Dr RK Bansal is Medical Director at Bansal Eye and Retina Centre. He joined on 1.6.2020 after his superannuation from GMCH -32 on 31.5.2020.

He did his post graduation in Ophthalmology from PGI, Chandigarh in year 1984. He worked as Assistant Professor at PGI Chandigarh from 31.05.1990 to 30.9.1995. He was Chief of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic services at PGI Chandigarh.

He did Fellowship in Ophthalmology from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) in year 2000 with distinction and won Muthusamy Gold Medal for this achievement.

He worked with Ministry of Health Oman for 8 years.

He joined as faculty at Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector-32,Chandigarh in year 2004.

He started clinics on Cataract and Paediatric ophthalmology and Strabismus at GMCH-32.

He has 35 years experience on operating on simple and most difficult case of cataract with Phacoemulsification with implantation of monofocal, multifocal, Toric and Toric multifocal intraocular lenses.

He has performed numerous Refractive Surgeries like PRK, LASIK, ICL Implantation, C3R for Keratoconous.

He is an expert in Squint evaluation and Squint surgery with wonderful outcomes.

He is master of Oculoplasty and DCR Surgery.

He has been an invited faculty at various National and International conferences since 1987 and presented his research.

He has performed numerous Live Surgeries at various conferences on difficult Cataract cases.

He is very humble and kind to patients and takes keen interest in patient care.
